Staples of Classic Rock’s annual end-of-year chart, British rockers FM have had more success since reuniting than they did during their original incarnation. As singer Steve Overland says, it’s difficult to explain why. They’re just overjoyed that it’s happening.

How would you sum up FM’s 2025?

Early on we did an acoustic tour. Unlike the last one many, many moons ago, this time we focused on our own material. I didn’t want to do covers, so we came up with arrangements. It was small venues, but I loved it. We gave the fans the chance to ask us anything they wanted – and believe me that’s what they did.

Every year we are surprised by the fact that we keep going and going and going. We might do some more of that next year. Things just keep on happening for us; we go to new territories and the gigs sell out. We still love doing this as much as we always did, so long may it continue.
