The Long Game

The love story of Erica Therese Dee and Joseph Gerard "Ged" Poe was built on patience, growing slowly and deliberately into a beautiful partnership.

Ten years after a chance encounter at a charity event, the pair exchanged vows beneath the Mediterranean sky at Castello Monaci, a fortified castle in Puglia, Italy.

Their journey started slowly. "I did not know right away that he was the one," she reflects. "It took months of being together and seeing the real him. He was kind, gentle, family-oriented.

I always felt safe and calm around him." For Poe, however, the connection was instant, though pretty soon validated by Dee's nurturing spirit. "Seeing how she took care of me and always put her family first made me realise she was the one," he says.

Their bond grew stronger during the global pandemic. In the stillness of lockdown, they had the time to align their goals. "We began working as a team," they share.

"We realised how much we needed to rely on each other to be the best versions of ourselves-in our health, friendships, relationships and long-term goals and that we never had to go through anything alone."
