ADELAIDE 'EMMA NEEDS TO REST'

The last time Sharon McKell saw her daughter Emma Pawelski alive, they were celebrating Emma's 30th birthday.

It was October 17, 2005.

The close-knit pair were at a restaurant in North Adelaide along with Emma's 15-year-old sister, Hannah, and Sharon's parents.

Sharon remembers Emma's big smile as she cut into her cake.

It is one of the last images she has of her.

Emma's body was later found on a remote track in Mount Crawford Forest, an hour outside Adelaide.

She had been beaten and was partially burned. Her killer has never been named.

"The trauma and grief have affected so many," Sharon, 70, shares with New Idea. "My parents died not knowing the truth.

imageBefore my dad passed away, he told me to never give up.
