Lorde’s fourth studio album, Virgin, is slated for release on June 27, 2025, through Republic Records. The album delves into themes of femininity and identity, with Lorde describing it as “raw, primal, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual, masc.” The lead single, “What Was That,” released on April 24, 2025, offers a glimpse into the album's introspective tone. Collaborators include Jim-E Stack, Dev Hynes, Dan Nigro, and others, contributing to the album's rich sonic landscape. The cover art features a blue-tinted X-ray of a pelvis adorned with a belt buckle and IUD, symbolizing transparency and self-exploration. To promote the album, Lorde will embark on the Ultrasound World Tour, beginning in September 2025.
