CHINESE NEW YEAR LIMITED-EDITION TIMEPIECES can be a hit or miss because not all animals in the zodiac can be majestic or cute. Most offerings tend to end up with a mega dose of cringe because it's Asian culture interpreted through a European lens or aesthetic. This year however, celebrating the Year of the Rabbit, Franck Muller and Tokyo-based streetwear label #FR2 (also called "Fxxking Rabbits") have jointly unveiled the Fr2nck Muller Vanguard, which happens to be quite handsome yet edgy instead of "cringe".
#FR2 was founded by Japanese streetwear pioneer Ryo Ishikawa, quickly becoming popular in the conservative nation with its off-kilter and salacious emblems. Marking the first collaboration between the two brands, the best of East meets West, seeing Swiss watchmaker Franck Muller adopt the distinctive design language of Japanese streetwear maven #FR2 on its trademark Vanguard watch.
