Every designer walks that fine line between safety and risk, weighing how far to go and when to hold back. At the start of any project, there's an ongoing negotiation: How far can an idea be pushed? Where is the line that shouldn't be crossed? And which risks might bloom into something unexpected? This tension between restraint and daring is often where the most interesting work begins. For Jasem Pirani and Huzefa Rangwala of MuseLAB, one such risk paid off in a 3,000 sq ft ancestral home in Mumbai - and soon enough, they found themselves following its lead.
