This beautiful Cotswold home, set in a former orchard, has been updated by owners Julie and Neil Daniells to create a sense of ease and comfort

Positioned where apple and pear trees would once have grown, in what was formerly the orchard of a small stately home, it’s no surprise this beautiful Cotswold stone house has an intimate connection with the garden that surrounds it. It’s a feature its owners, Julie and Neil Daniells, were keen to celebrate from the start. While the couple had overseen the transformation of the interiors, they decided to call on award-winning local garden designer, Lucy Bravington to plan the outdoor space for them.

‘We planted pleached trees beside the road for privacy and tried to create additional definition, using metal edging along borders and moments of symmetry to add grandeur to the space,’ Julie says. ‘I live out there in summer. The garden is as important to me as the interior.’
