Melbourne-based interior designer Amelda Wilde demonstrates how a statement piece of furniture can feel at home in both cosy and colossal spaces.

Von Leach Residence in an inner suburb of Geelong is a study in contrasts, each room weaving the strands of a story together, with plenty of plot twists along the way. "As you move through the home, the colour, light and proportions change continually, amplifying the charms and function of each space," says interior designer Amelda Wilde, who reimagined the characterful bungalow with her partner, Matthew Leach of steel fabricator Von Steel.
