Action without self-interest - Part 3

- By Shri Murarilal Dhanuka

Nishkama Karmayoga in the Bhagavad Gita

In the Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 3, Verse 6, Lord Krishna says, “He who while restraining the organs of action, thinks of sense objects in his mind, he, of deluded understanding, is a hypocrite.” Organs of actions not only include the tongue (speech), hands, feet, anus and generative organs but also the sense organs: the ears, skin, eyes, tongue and nose. Because actions cannot be performed by organs of action alone without sense organs. Besides, if only the organs of action are restrained but not the sense organs, hypocrisy is not fully proved.
