There's Always More Money: Learn to Trust Yourself and Your Financial Future

It's a phrase that can feel radical, comforting—or completely out of reach—depending on where you are in your financial journey.

But here's the truth: money is just a means of exchange. It has no real power beyond what we give it. And yet, so many of us let money—or the fear of not having enough—dictate our choices, stress levels, and sense of security.

I recently read Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism by Sarah Wynn-Williams. It's a memoir that takes you behind the scenes of Facebook, through the eyes of a former employee. What struck me most was how focused the leadership was on one goal: making more money. If a project didn't directly generate revenue, it wasn't worth pursuing.

Of course, that's a simplification of a more complex reality—but it reflects something many of us can relate to. When profit becomes the only priority, other values—like integrity, impact, or personal well-being—can get lost.

As an accountant and money mindset coach, I talk about money a lot. And I believe it's important. Like any relationship in our lives, money needs attention and care. If we want it to feel supportive and steady, we must nurture that relationship.

But giving money your attention is not the same as giving it power over your every decision. There's a difference between caring about money and being controlled by it.
