Gandhi's Non-Violence and Homeopathy: A Shared Philosophy of Healing

Gandhi's name is synonymous with Ahimsa, a philosophy that not only shaped India’s freedom struggle but also inspired global movements for justice and peace. His philosophy of Ahimsa went beyond politics, shaping his views on food, health, and daily living. In medicine, Gandhi was drawn to systems that were gentle, ethical, and accessible with Homeopathy holding a special place in his heart.

Gandhi and Non-Violence: A Way of Life

For Gandhi, nonviolence was more than the absence of aggression. It was the presence of love, truth, and respect for life. He often said, “Ahimsa is the highest duty.” Nonviolence demanded courage, self-control, and an unwavering belief that truth could transform even the most hardened hearts. This philosophy emphasized patience and natural resolution over forceful suppression.

Gandhi's View on Health and Healing

Gandhi was skeptical of quick fixes and excessive reliance on drugs. He believed that true health required:

  • Simplicity in living and diet

  • Clean habits and self-restraint

  • Reliance on natural remedies

  • Harmony between body, mind, and spirit

He once remarked:
