THE Division Bench of the Delhi High Court (HC) has asked the pharmaceutical companies to file a chart of the details related to the ban on fixed dose combinations (FDCs) and the petitions they have filed before the Court in connection with this in a certain timeframe, in order to proceed with the matter.
The direction came from the division bench while considering almost 55 petitions filed by 27 companies during the years 2023 and 2024, against the Centre's decision banning various FDCs including common cold and cough syrups.
"To facilitate the hearing of these matters, we request learned counsel for the petitioners to file a chart containing details of the S.O. numbers, FDC name of the petitioners along with the writ petition numbers, justifications sought to be given by the respondents in their chart and replies thereto, if any, on behalf of the petitioners," said the division bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela, in an order issued on October 9.
