An visioned as a mirror to both past and present, Sandton's latest offering, Mira, offers a new kind of intimacy amid Sandton's relentless pace. Founded by Luke Dakers and Ben Stanger, together with a defining figure in Johannesburg's hospitality scene, George Sinovich, the restaurant recently opened its doors with a distinctly cinematic, sensorial approach. ‘When you step into Mira, no matter the weather, you'll feel immersed in the space,’ says Dakers. ‘Through all of the different sensory experiences, from the food and the scents to the visuals and the lighting, we designed the space for guests to disappear into Mira, to leave their problems at the door.’ Mira’s concept is rooted in the idea of quiet luxury that extends from the interiors to the menu. ‘We're not finicky with our food,’ adds George Sinovich. ‘The experience feels
