Chocolate-Banana Protein Smoothie

1 banana, frozen ½ cup cooked red lentils (see p. 14) ½ cup fat-free milk 2 tsp. unsweetened cocoa 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
Place banana, lentils, milk, cocoa, and syrup in a blender, and process until smooth.

This creamy, rich smoothie will satisfy any craving for chocolate. It's so decadent you might want it as a dessert, too.
1½ cups frozen strawberries 1 cup chilled unsweetened chocolate almond milk, plus more if needed 1 Tbsp. almond butter 1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa 1 Tbsp. honey
Place strawberries, milk, almond butter, cocoa, and honey in a blender. Process until smooth, adding more almond milk, if needed, for desired consistency.
Serve immediately.
