This Is the High Life

Let everyone else go to Europe this summer. We'll be at the theme park.

When I was a first year business school student, my winter break travel plans could have plunked me almost anywhere on the map. I might have gone on a ski trip to Niseko, or hiked up to Machu Picchu, or had a kompromatriddled getaway in Thailand. I opted for a more modest destination: Orlando, Florida.

To understand why I eschewed the student-travel-industrial complex, one must understand my family dynamics. My siblings and I are fairly spread out in age. We have different cultural touchpoints and sometimes feel like four only children. But theme park trekking is a passion we all share.
