Sixty years after its first Bird on a Rock brooch was designed, Tiffany & Co. gets our hearts aflutter once more. This time, the house releases not just two new high jewellery suites, but also the first Bird on a Rock by Tiffany fine jewellery collection

Two weeks ago, we took to the air and landed in Bangkok to join Tiffany & Co. in honouring one of its most recognised icons, the house’s beloved Bird on a Rock, which was designed some 60 years ago by one of the 20th century’s most celebrated artists, Jean Schlumberger.

A veritable emblem of hope and optimism, the Bird on a Rock’s first iteration saw a yellow and white diamond version of the brand’s feathered friend perched on a cabochon lapis lazuli — the perfect brooch, ingeniously positioning a precious cockatoo on an equally dazzling gemstone.

Of course, the brand's Jean Schlumberger moment in Thailand wasn’t just about giving a nod to the Bird on a Rock's past, as significant as that alone may be.
