The timepiece that broke boundaries in the 1980s for being unapologetically fashion-forward and feminine has a new member in its family. Introducing the Chanel Premiere Galon, which can be said to be the most jewellery-like of all in the Chanel Premiere collection, thanks to an unexpectedly glamorous twist.
The Premiere Galon by Chanel trades the interwoven leather-and-chain strap synonymous with the Chanel Premiere watch for a sculptural 18K yellow gold bangle inspired by the braided trim house founder Gabrielle Chanel applied to suits. The effect can be said to give the Premiere, which debuted in 1987 and was reissued with its original aesthetic intact three years ago, an even more jewellery-like quality. We're predicting it to be the new queen of the small watch movement - understatedly glamorous as seen on singer-songwriter and Chanel ambassador Gracie Abrams, who wore it to the brand's Fall Winter 2025 couture show (this page).

The house of Chanel has been a committed champion of the film world since founder Gabrielle Chanel started dressing the actresses from the United Artists studio at the request of American producer Samuel Goldwyn in the 1930s. Besides styling stars on screen and off, the brand has been an active supporter of international movie festivals, institutions and directors (local auteur Eric Khoo was one of them); has helped to restore classics such as the enigmatic Last Year at Marienbad (1961); and often draws inspiration from cinema.
