JCK Las Vegas High on Buying!
Diamond World
|May - June 2022
The four-day event saw a packed show floor that was filled with a buoyant mood where both exhibitors and buyers were extremely thrilled to conduct proper business after a long hiatus
-
JCK Las Vegas witnessed an attendance of 30,000 from all spheres of the jewellery industry. More than 1800 exhibitors showcased their new offerings at the show attracting buyers from 130 countries. The mood this year was anything but somber – retailers from across the world congregated at JCK to stock up on fresh designs and keep abreast of hot trends that are currently seen widely in the world of jewellery. The first day opened to a packed crowd with long queues thronging the registration booths.
“People have not got an opportunity to conduct business in the last 3 years, so they are interested in enhancing their business, to network within the community and cull out business opportunities. According to me the outlook is positive and we are ready for business,” said Savji Dholakia from Hari Krishna Exports. “Prices in January and February had gone up, but now it has dropped and it will be stable now. Retailers are ready to conduct business at these rates and manufacturers are managing to sell as well. At this rate the American market will be better for us to conduct business and we will be able to sell at competitive rates. The best market is USA as nearly 40% diamond jewellery is sold here and second is Hong Kong and China and then Europe,” he added.
The U.S. will witness one of the highest numbers of weddings in 2022 since 1984 and the sentiment at JCK resonated with this prediction as buyers were eagerly scrutinising the lengths and breadths of the show floor in search of different-looking, innovative pieces.
