The residents of Albert Square were totally torn apart when Martin Fowler died in the aftermath of the explosion at The Queen Vic. Since then, there have been a series of bitter wranglings over the much-loved fruit-and-veg seller's funeral, with his deluded other half Ruby Allen determined to take control, ignoring the wishes of the Fowler clan and Martin's childhood sweetheart Sonia.

Meanwhile Stacey's been away, not knowing how to cope with her grief at losing her ex-husband, but also with the secret that he asked her to remarry him with his dying breath.
