Some TV couples are just meant to be, and when it comes to BBC1 soap EastEnders, few have captured the hearts of viewers quite like Kat Slater and Alfie Moon.

Metaphorical fireworks went off when the characters first set eyes on one another back in 2002, and over 20 years later, they're still together... after a few failed marriages (and not just to each other), affairs and more family crises than Kathy Beale has served bacon rolls. This week, they're all set to say 'I do' for the third time, having previously got wed in 2003 and 2014. But will the Albert Square soulmates finally get a fairy-tale ending?

'Alfie is so excited to be marrying Kat again; it feels like it's meant to be,' muses Shane Richie, 61, who plays the former pint-puller and now Minute Mart manager.
