KELLIE BRIGHT talks to TV Times about that deadly Christmas Day in The Vic, and the future for murderer Linda

The murder of a Walford man on Christmas Day by a Walford woman came as no surprise to EastEnders fans, with the dark storyline being teased in a flash-forward scene 10 months earlier. But few could have guessed that it would be Keanu Taylor being killed off, and fewer still would have put money on Linda Carter – lover of all things pink and fluffy – being responsible for the deadly despatch.

In her first interview since that epic episode involving ‘The Six’, actor Kellie Bright, 47, talks exclusively to TV Times about being a soap murderer, and what’s to come for her iconic character…

When did you first find out about this storyline? And what was your reaction to it?

It was about a month after Danny [Dyer, who played Linda’s ex-husband Mick Carter] had left the show, in late 2022. I wondered what the future held for me – it was a strange time. We had a meeting with [show boss] Chris Clenshaw, and I literally went, ‘Oh, I’m excited… I’m in!’

And it was so nice to do it with the other women. They are beyond brilliant, not just at what they do on screen but in holding each other up behind the scenes, because it has been a lot!

BBC3 special The Six: Revealed showed the moment, in September, when you were told that Linda was the killer. How shocked were you?
