Whether they’re knocking down walls or sanding floors, Amanda Holden and Alan Carr aren’t afraid of hard graft in their renovation adventures for BBC1. But the dynamic duo admit they’d be lost without the knowledge and skills of one man: project manager Scott Thompson.

Scott, who’s originally from the UK, joined the pair when they embarked on their first property makeover – turning two dilapidated apartments into a dream home in the Italian town of Salemi in 2023 – and quickly became an integral member of the team as well as a firm favourite with viewers.

He has since helped revamp a 17th-century abode in Tuscany and can currently be seen keeping things on track transforming a three-storey Andalusian town house into a boutique B&B for Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job.

Joining TV Times for an exclusive interview from his home in Sicily, Scott, 45, tells us how his small-screen stardom came about by accident…
