KING & CONQUEROR
BBC1 This eight-episode historical drama depicts the clash between Anglo-Saxon ruler Harold, Earl of Wessex (James Norton, far right), and William, Duke of Normandy (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, right). The series charts events running up to 1066's decisive Battle of Hastings, which marked the beginning of the Norman Conquest. Emily Beecham and Clémence Poésy play Harold and William's respective wives, Edith and Matilda.
NINE BODIES IN A MEXICAN MORGUE
BBC2 It's Lost meets Yellowjackets in this murder-mystery following a group of strangers who end up stranded in the remote Mexican jungle after their plane crashes. But as the survivors are being killed off one by one, who is targeting them and why? Promising paranoia and dark secrets, the six-parter from Moonflower Murders writer Anthony Horowitz stars Eric McCormack (front), David Ajala and Siobhán McSweeney.
THE HACK ITV1
Penned by Jack Thorne (Adolescence), this seven-part drama, set between 2002 and 2012, explores the ripple effect of the real-life newspaper phone-hacking scandal. David Tennant (left) plays journalist Nick Davies, whose research into suspected hacking is intertwined with the story of cop Dave Cook (Robert Carlyle), who looks into the 1987 unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan.
THE SAVANT
Apple TV+
Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain (left) takes the lead in a tense eight-parter, inspired by a real-life story, that follows an undercover investigator known as 'The Savant' as she infiltrates online hate groups in a bid to thwart a range of domestic extremists before they wreak death and destruction on the US.
