Written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, the sixparter opens in the spring of 1943 as the recently formed regiment leaves the deserts of Africa to spearhead an assault on Sicily.

With Lt Col David Stirling (Connor Swindells) taken prisoner, the SAS is now led by the unpredictable Major Paddy Mayne (Jack O'Connell).
