Electric dreams

It's 1992, John Major is Prime Minister and the Queen is in the midst of her annus horribilis as we head back to Stockport for the second series of BBC1 comedy The Power of Parker.

In the first series, electricalgoods tycoon Martin Parker (Conleth Hill) was swimming in debt as his business began to crumble, while his wife Diane (Rosie Cavaliero) discovered he'd been having a long-term affair with her sister, Kath (series co-creator Sian Gibson).

Diane and Kath teamed up to get one over Martin and gained control of his business in the finale - only for Martin to burn it down for the insurance money.
