SIA GODIKA

GETTING INDIA ON ITS FEET

In 2019, Bengaluru-based Sia Godika was deeply disturbed at the sight of children of construction workers hurting their feet while running around barefoot near her house. That encounter became the catalyst for her to establish the Sole Warriors NGO. With a simple yet powerful motto - donate a sole, save a soul' - its mission revolves around refurbishing old footwear collected from people and donating it to the underprivileged. Through dynamic collaborations with diverse volunteer groups in Bengaluru including Ploggers Army, the Rotary Club, and the Robin Hood Army, Sia has orchestrated a series of impactful drives, leading to the distribution of an impressive 27,000 pairs of footwear to date.

In recognition of her dedication to making a positive impact, Sia was bestowed with the prestigious Diana Award - one of the highest honours that celebrate the social actions and humanitarian efforts of young individuals, propelling Sole Warriors to the global stage with operations in countries such as the USA and West Africa.
