In a profession where women are still significantly underrepresented, Bengaluru-based photojournalist PRATHIKSHA M KRISHNA is making her mark, writes Kayal Arivalan

ONE FRAME AT A TIME

From borrowing a friend's camera during college to becoming the only female official photographer at the Indian Premier League (IPL), Prathiksha Krishna's journey has been all about following her passion.

An alumna of Bengaluru's Christ University with a major in Journalism, Prathiksha discovered her passion for photography almost by chance. “I didn’t even own a camera, but I was interested in pursuing photography,” she recalls. “I borrowed my friend's camera and shot people with it. I felt I had the ability to make people appear beautiful in pictures.” This intuitive connection with the lens led her to take up an elective in Photography, and later a Post Graduate Diploma in Photojournalism from a college in Ooty.
