Have you ever looked at someone, stalked them online relentlessly, and thought 'nope, I can't keep doing this forever; something about it doesn't feel real, organic, or happy?' All that gushing and crushing isn't doing you any good. Losing your mind over a simple eye contact or a casual hello, convincing yourself it'll either lead to something magical or completely shatter you - it's exhausting. Worse still, if it's someone who doesn't even know you exist or someone you know you can't be with. There are a million reasons why you shouldn't be obsessing over them, so here we are - helping you get rid of that tingly feeling that's no longer healthy or harmless.
STEP 1:
ACCEPT IT AS IT IS
Crushes can feel intense, and deciding to move on feels like letting go of a dopamine high, but the first step is understanding that this not working out is not a personal failure. Rejection is redirection. Holding on to the delusion that it might work out just because, in your dream world, you're already together and happy - yeah, that's not reality. You cannot make someone fall in love with you; love is a natural, mysterious thing that happens when two people mutually connect. If that's not happening, let it be. It is what it is.
