LOVES THE MULTITASKING ABILITY OF IPADOS 26, BUT THINKS THAT APPLE NEEDS TO PUT MORE EFFORT INTO EXPLAINING HOW IT ALL WORKS

John-Anthony Disotto...

iPadOS 26 marked one of the biggest upgrades for the iPad since the Apple tablet first launched in 2010. It introduced the gorgeous Liquid Glass design found across Apple's product line, but it was the shakeup of window management that had everyone talking.

Four months on, after a chat with my elderly parents, it hit me that Apple hasn't done a great job explaining how to get the most from these new Mac-like tools. With iPads being a popular gift, lots of new users are diving into an operating system that's far more flexible than Apple is letting on.

So, in this month's column, I want to break down how to get the most from window management in iPadOS 26, and highlight a simple trick that should absolutely be enabled by default. It all starts with a toggle hidden in Control Centre. Once activated, it will genuinely change the way you use your iPad.
