Succeeding Audio-Technica's ATH-ADX5000 model from 2017, the ATH-ADX3000 is a lightweight, open-backed audiophile headphone that falls very much into the category of 'serious' listening. Not because it's especially complicated - in fact, it's rather simple but due to its exceptional performance and also its price. At just shy of £900, these aren't exactly going to be an impulse purchase, though for people who consider themselves to be audiophiles this would not necessarily be an unusual amount to spend.

The headphones come in a sturdy metal carrying case, with a detachable 3m cable that uses the company's A2DC connector format at the cup end and a 6.3mm gold plated stereo plug at the other. There's no 3.5mm adaptor included, though you can add your own for a few pounds if you want to plug into your Mac, for example, rather than the hi-fi separates Audio-Technica would probably recommend.
