The king of Champakvan, Shersingh, wanted to do something different for the New Year.
He thought a lot about it but couldn't come up with a unique idea.
He called his minister, Baddy fox, and said, "Minister, I'm planning to do something unique this year, but I can't think of anything. Can you help me with an idea?"
The minister thought for a while and then said, "I do have an idea, Your Highness. But I'm afraid you won't like it because you will have to step down from your throne for a day."
King Shersingh thought for a while and said, "All right, Minister! Tell me your idea. If I must leave my beloved throne for a day, then so be it."
When Baddy told him his idea, King Shersingh was very pleased.
"Bravo, Minister! That's an excellent idea! It will be highly entertaining."
According to their plan, they announced that Jumpy monkey, the biggest critic of King Shersingh, would be made the king for a day. Jumpy was known to claim that if he were the king for a day, he would transform Champakvan completely.
Soon after the announcement, people started congratulating Jumpy. He decided that now he should maintain decorum when he was in public. He washed his face by rubbing it with an aromatic soap. Then, he quickly applied a lot of powder to his wet face.
