Crio's Defeat
Champak|January Second 2023
Once upon a time, a crocodile named Crio lived in a lake. Crio was very big and looked quite dangerous, too. The lake's water was very sweet, but the forest animals would only come to drink from it when they couldn't find water anywhere else. This was because of Crio.

Crio's Defeat

He did not allow them to drink the water easily as he thought he owned the lake. He insisted on one condition before drinking water from the lake-the animal had to ride on his back. Although it is pleasant to sit on the back of a crocodile and sail across the lake, no animal, small or big, wanted to sit on his back because the longer they sat there, the more troubled they would be.

Crio would take them on his back and sway in the water. If the animal did not hold him tight, they would fall on the rocks near the edge and get hurt.

Crio purposely did this so that no animal could come near the lake. He did not want them to enjoy the ride and scared them away. That's why the animals preferred to stay away and rarely came to his lake.

Once, it did not rain in the forest for a long time. The water from the other forest lakes was drying up, but there was still a lot of water in Crio's lake. The animals called a meeting and started discussing how they could drink water from that lake and avoid riding on Crio's back. His rides were scary and most animals would be hurt or lose their breath.

Molly monkey said, "If an animal like me who is swift gets scared, what would it be like for everyone else?"
