On its branches, hidden behind a cluster of leaves, hung a juicy mango, which was the only one left on the tree.
Cheeku looked at the mango for a long time, his mouth was watering, looking at it. He tried hard to jump and pluck the mango, but in vain. He even threw stones at the mango, but none reached and fell far from the target.
Just then, Jumpy monkey came along, humming a song and saw Cheeku sitting under the tree.
"What's the matter, Cheeku? Why are you sitting under the tree during this hot afternoon?" asked Jumpy.
Now, Cheeku was reluctant to tell Jumpy about the mango, because Jumpy could easily climb the tree and pluck it.
"Hi, Jumpy. You tell me, how are you?" replied Cheeku.
"I'm good. You did not say why you are sitting here," Jumpy repeated his question.
"Nothing at all. Just like that," Cheeku evaded the right answer.
"Okay," said Jumpy and started walking away.
Seeing Jumpy walking away, Cheeku thought and stopped him.
