THE ACTOR REVEALS JUST HOW MUCH HE LOVED JOINING THE FRANCHISE AND A RAREFIED GROUP OF LEADING MEN

With a number of very prestigious accolades to his name and a series of dramatic roles on his résumé, Chiwetel Ejiofor's casting in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy was a welcome surprise for fans when the film hit cinemas earlier this year. But the 47-year-old insists playing the peculiar but endearing Mr Walliker alongside Renée Zellweger in the rom-com was not so much of a change from his usual fare.

“It’s not different doing a rom-com to anything else,” he tells WHO. “Where the humour comes from and where the romance comes from is really grounded. And it feels like it needs to be grounded. I mean, that's what lifts it, and that’s always been the case in these films.”

How did you feel about joining the Bridget Jones circus?
