After more than four decades in show business, Christian Slater will be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on June 9, it has been announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud to celebrate his remarkable career with this well-deserved recognition,” Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said.

With films under his belt including Heathers, True Romance, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Interview with the Vampire, it is certainly a well-deserved accolade. But it does beg the question of why the 55-year-old actor didn’t get his spot back in the ’80s and ’90s when his biggest box office hits were actually being made.

Slater’s will become the 2815th terrazzo-and-brass star embedded in foothpaths along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street ~ an honour that originated in 1953 as a way to preserve entertainment history.
