OK, so you feel lousy. You want to do something that will help lift your mood, but everything seems terrible and you keep coming up blank. Luckily, Matilda Boseley, the author of The ADHD Brain Buddy, has come up with a list of ways to boost your mood in 30 minutes. It's worth a try, because anything is better than feeling like this, right?

1 Call your mum, your grandpa or a friend who you haven't spoken to in a while. Ask about the shows they've been watching, their newest hobbies or if there is any juicy gossip going on in their workplace.

Perform a random act of kindness. It doesn't have to be big - perhaps it's donating a little money to a charity you care about, writing a nice note to send to a friend telling them the things you love about them or leaving a glowing online review for your favourite cafe.

2 Take a walk, but walk as fast as you can. Really feel your heart beating.
