Since Steve Irwin tragically died following a stingray attack in 2006, his widow, Terri, and their two children, Bindi, 26, and Robert, 21, have been dedicated to keeping his conservation legacy alive.

“Steve used to say, ‘When it’s my time, I don’t care if anyone remembers me, I just hope they remember my message,’” shares Terri, 60. The close-knit trio — who live and work at the Australia Zoo along with Bindi’s husband, Chandler Powell, and their 4-year-old daughter, Grace — recently honored the beloved animal rights activist with the annual Steve Irwin Gala at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on May 10 (Bindi and Terri missed this year’s ceremony because Bindi had an emergency appendectomy). They chat to Us about what’s next for them.

First, we have to talk about Robert’s viral Bond underwear campaign! Bindi, what was your reaction to that?

BI There are some things you can’t ever unsee as a sister. I’m a little uncomfortable, but I’m proud of [him].
