It was celebrations all round last week as the royal family released a fun video and new photograph of Prince George in honour of his 12th birthday

The Prince and Princess of Wales gave a sneak peek into their family life by sharing a behind-the-scenes video to mark Prince George's 12th birthday last week.

To celebrate their eldest child’s big day, William and Kate’s social media pages posted a charming clip of the future king and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, giggling as they posed for a photographer during a family photoshoot.

In the playful footage, George is shown smiling as he and Charlotte carry a laughing Louis between them, with Charlotte holding Louis’ legs, as they are captured by photographer Josh Shinner.

The video, filmed by Kensington Palace’s in-house social media team, also shows the trio smiling as they stride along holding hands, with Louis in the middle.

It came after William and Kate also marked their son’s big day in the more traditional way by releasing a new photograph of him. It showed George earlier this year at the family’s country retreat of Anmer Hall in Norfolk, smiling and leaning on a wooden gate wearing a checked shirt, a gilet and a woven friendship bracelet - something he has been spotted wearing countless times.
