Claudia Winkleman reveals why she won't be watching The Celebrity Traitors - and how the Princess Royal inspired her style on the show

A return to the infamous Ardross Castle in Scotland for a fourth series of The Traitors is about as thrilling an initiation into autumn as it gets, especially with the show's new celebrity twist.

Its star-studded cast is led by the Olivier Award-winning actress Celia Imrie, the writer Sir Stephen Fry and the Brit Award-winning singer Paloma Faith – and yet it’s the programme’s tartan-clad host, Claudia Winkleman, who is the real crown jewel, not least because of her impeccable wardrobe.

"We went quite Miss Trunchbull and Morticia [Addams], with a nod to Princess Anne, who’s our favourite," Claudia says of her wardrobe, which is styled by Sinead McKeefry, at an exclusive screening of The Celebrity Traitors. “Sinead went: ‘Are we going for a bit of taffeta?’ and I’m going to be honest, I went overboard with that."
