After 18 years in the beauty industry, the journalist Joanna Ellner was feeling disillusioned with the lack of results from even the most science-driven skincare. As a result, she drew on her years of experience to establish the skincare line Reome, which has efficacy at its core and luxury at its heart.

Luxury is defined by the details: objects that are meticulously and carefully crafted to evoke joy and are built to last. The most luxurious night out for me, as a busy mother and brand founder, is an overnight stay at a country hotel such as Beaverbrook, in the Surrey Hills, or Estelle Manor, in Oxfordshire. I like to roll straight into a beautifully made bed after dinner.

My biggest indulgences are leather loafers by The Row. Good shoes immediately make me feel put-together, clear-minded and capable of whatever each day might bring.
