The Prince of Wales was fully kitted out to show his support for the armed forces last week, donning camouflage gear and a beret as he recognised the royal demands made of the Welsh Guards in recent times.

William, 42, who became colonel of the regiment last year, looked every inch the all-action prince as he joined soldiers from its 1st Battalion who were practising live firing on Salisbury Plain.
The battalion has been performing ceremonial duties, known as the "blue line", for the past two years, but from January 2025 will return to "green soldiering" and spend time on updating the regiment's specialist weapons capabilities.
The change comes after the Welsh Guards took part in Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral, the King's coronation and His Majesty's first Trooping the Colour ceremony as monarch.
