Aimee Lou Wood, whose acting career took off after she starred in much-loved comedy Sex Education, discusses her latest role in hit show The White Lotus and how she's adjusting to fame

Actress Aimee Lou Wood can hardly believe that six years have passed since she first started filming the acclaimed Netflix comedy Sex Education.

Yet since she landed a role in season three of HBO's award-winning comedy drama The White Lotus, her life has started to look very different.

"I wouldn't say I have changed, but my life has changed completely," she says. "It seems like only yesterday that I was in drama school. I'd never have imagined something like this would happen."

The star, who also appeared in last year's BBC3 comedy Daddy Issues, has become a pro at tackling life changes -not least when, in 2024, she relocated to Thailand to take on the role of Chelsea in The White Lotus alongside Wonka star Natasha Rothwell and Harry Potter actor Jason Isaacs.

"It was incredible, but we were so busy," she says. "We were there for seven months, which is a long time, but I would love to go back, just on holiday. That would be nice."
