The TV presenter and author Angela Scanlon on keeping busy, her big Irish Christmas and how she'd love to be Strictly's new host

Angela Scanlon is a modern-day multi-hyphenate. A TV presenter, podcast host, author and entrepreneur, the mother of two throws herself wholeheartedly into every project she does, most recently collaborating with the fashion brand Never Fully Dressed to create a collection in support of the “phenomenal” charity Choose Love.

“I do enjoy when there’s lots of things going on,” she says. “I used to berate myself that I couldn’t do one thing and focus all of my efforts into it, and now I realise that actually it’s just not how my brain works.”

In fact, Angela suspects that she may well have ADHD. “Since I wrote my book [Joyrider, which was published in 2022], I have had experts in my inbox telling me,” she says. “But I actually have resisted having a diagnosis for unknown reasons – because I always like to take the hard path.”

“I went through a period where I was not very good at managing my workload, and then enter two children [Angela has daughters Ruby, seven, and Marnie, three, with her entrepreneur husband Roy Horgan], and that becomes a whole other layer,” she continues.
