When Sandeep Kewlani took his story to Maddock Films, he did not know the production house would offer him a chance to debut as a director.

Sky Force, co-directed by Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, tells the story of Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, a brave Indian Air Force officer who laid down his life in the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

Before directing this Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer, Kewlani worked as a writer on Ajay Devgn's Runway 34 and Bholaa. He is also the co-founder of GoodKarma Films, a production house that reflects deep rooted commitment to the craft.

HIS DEBUT FILM: I'm grateful for the opportunity and aware of the responsibilities that come with a debut such as Sky Force. Audiences don't differentiate between debutants and veterans.

WORKING WITH AKSHAY KUMAR: Akshay Kumar is a seasoned actor with 30 years of experience.

Akshay only needs "one good Friday" for a strong comeback. The audience still admires and supports him. Proud that Sky Force became Akshay's comeback after a dry spell post-COVID. Akshay fully surrendered to the debutant directors, offering freedom and complete support. He cooperated with all shooting demands, including night shoots and scenes involving smoking (despite not endorsing it in real life). He trusted the directors and allowed them to make the film their way.
