Asia Kalcevic
Successful Farming
|September 2025
This Colorado farmer combines innovation and information to build a brand for the family business.
Asia Kalcevic is one of the fifth generation working Kalcevic Farms, a corn, wheat, milo, and millet operation spanning 125 miles east to west in the Colorado Plains just east of Denver. The farm shares a western border with Denver International Airport. Kalcevic handles social media and marketing, developing a cohesive branding strategy and sharing the family's story. During wheat harvest, though, she's in the field doing her favorite job: running a grain cart.
SF: I first heard you speak last year on a producer panel at the Women in Agribusiness Summit. What was that like?
AK: That was my first ever big public speaking event, so it was a bit nerve-racking, but it was fun. I did extemporaneous speaking and public speaking a lot in FFA, and that really made a difference helping me stay calm.
SF: What does an average day look like?
AK: It definitely varies by day. One of my main tasks is building the farm's brand. I created our website, manage our social media, and work on marketing efforts, like presentations and even business cards. Those little things in the background help make sure our business looks unified and structured.
