You had a long career and I guess you are stepping down in three months. I am sure you' have achieved a lot in that long innings. What do you consider were the highlights of your long career? What do you think were the challenges which continue even today which you would like to highlight to the industry?
Answer - My career started in 1974 as a Cadet with Shipping Corporation of India (SCI). In 1978, I moved on to foreign companies, where I sailed with various companies till the rank of Chief Officer. In 1985, I joined Anglo-Eastern Ship Management (AE) as a Chief Officer. Got command in 1986, came ashore in 1992 as Safety and Quality Manager. And I've stuck on with the same job all through the 31 years in the office. I got additional responsibility of training one or two years after joining the office.
