The Association of Physicians of India (API) and Kenvue India have jointly issued fluid management guidelines in hospitalized patients for hospitals. This covers the management of oral fluids, electrolytes, and energy (FEE) in patients suffering from non-diarrheal diseases.
A white paper titled the "Role of Oral Fluid Electrolytes and Energy in Non-Diarrheal Illnesses in Hospitalized Patients" was unveiled at APICON 2024, API's annual conference. It addresses the often-overlooked issue of dehydration in hospitalized patients, which can delay recovery and lead to readmission.
