It's not just about the tech, AI + human will be the new "human"

The Dataquest Digital Leadership Conclave 2025, themed “India and the AI Revolution,” kicked off with an insightful keynote address by Jaspreet Bindra, an AI expert and thought leader. Bindra’s virtual address set the stage for a day of thought-provoking discussions, delving deep into AI's rapid evolution, transformative potential, and ethical considerations.

AI: THE NEXT INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

Bindra opened his address by drawing historical parallels between past technological revolutions and the AI revolution. He highlighted how human civilization has been shaped by its ability to create powerful tools, from the Agricultural Revolution to the Industrial Revolution, and now to the AI-driven Intelligence Revolution.

He emphasized that AI is not just a technological trend, but a fundamental shift in human-machine interaction, marking a new era where intelligence itself is being democratized.

THE THREE PIVOTAL PAPERS THAT SHAPED AI

During the address, providing a concise history of AI's evolution, Bindra referred to three key research papers that have shaped AI's trajectory:

  • The Dartmouth Conference (1955-56) - The birthplace of AI as a field of study, where the term “Artificial Intelligence” was coined.

  • “Attention is All You Need” (2017) - The Google AI paper that introduced transformers, leading to the development of Generative AI (the ‘T in GPT).

  • DeepSeek Paper (2024) - A recent breakthrough in open-source AI that is reshaping the competitive landscape.
