Two things I unlearnt in 2024: (i) The myth of busyness as productivity: One of the most important lessons of 2024 was realizing that being perpetually busy isn’t synonymous with being impactful. A packed calendar, overflowing with back-to-back meetings and endless task lists gave me a false sense of accomplishment. But I've come to value the quiet, uninterrupted moments - the white space in a day - where real clarity emerges. Carving out time to think, reflect, and simply pause has proven far more transformative than constantly being ‘in action’. (ii) Leaders must have all the answers: Early on, I felt pressured to know everything - of being the one who always has a solution. I consciously let go of that burden. Leadership, I've learned, is not about dispensing answers but about creating an environment where the right questions are asked. Encouraging diverse perspectives and inviting curiosity has led to more powerful outcomes.
