How should AI be designed and deployed in India to ensure it is accessible, reliable and impactful across both urban and rural populations?

AI in India is an opportunity to integrate and make essential services accessible to every citizen, leveraging the country's growing mobile-first digital infrastructure. To scale effectively, AI must be multilingual, support voice interfaces and cater to both urban users who understand occasional AI errors - and rural users, for whom trust and reliability are paramount. The focus should be on deploying well-tested, responsible AI rather than chasing cutting-edge innovation, ensuring that solutions are explainable and practical.
